Exploring Rhone French Alps, Lake Annecy & Lake Du Bourget, Including Conjux, & Aix Les Baines

As we prepared for leaving the US after a short visit home, we had no clue where we were heading in Europe. That was until 3 days before our departure we landed a house sitting assignment in Conjux, France. We landed in Frankfurt, rented a car and floored it 7 hours towards France. This was my first time driving 5 speed in a long time, and the first road we had to tackle was the Autobahn. We pushed through the anxiety, and made it to beautiful Conjux about $100 poorer due to tolls and about an hour later than scheduled due to..... poor driving..... Conjux and Aix Les Bains were places we had never heard of, but a quick Google search turned up some amazing pictures, so we jumped all over the chance to house sit for three Springer Spaniels in a house overlooking Lac Du Bourget. Lake Du Bourget is about 21 Kilometers in length and is situated in the Rhone Alps. As you'll see the water was a turquoise blue and some of the cleanest water Ive ever seen. During our house sit we had a 5 day break, as the homeowners transitioned between trips, in which we headed to Lake Annecy. This is a much more popular tourist lake, with just as beautiful views. The towns of Annecy and Talloires were full of charm and a blast to stroll through. Come take the virtual tour through two lesser known French Alp towns that you might want to consider as an alternative to some of the more common tourist traps such as Paris.
