The WETA Effect, or, Why Special Effects Peaked in the 90's. - StoryBrain

submitted by AudienceMagnet on 07/26/15 1

A lot of people have said that Special Effects in movies feel hollow compared to the movies from 10 or 20 years ago. Obviously, CGI plays a part, but there's a very specific reason that things aren't working as well. Background Music is "Ridin' Wavs" by R. Dilly from Incompetech's Archive. Clips from X-Men: Days of Future Past, King Kong, The Hobbit, Hulk 2003 and 2008, Star Wars, Marvel and DC Comics, Avatar, Mad Max: Fury Road, Prometheus, and Game of Thrones. Enjoy!
