This video shows a demonstration of Experiment 1 in Novare Physical Science, a physical science text for middle school grades (6-8). The objective of the experiment is to demonstrate and measure kinetic energy in objects of different weights. A simple 6' straight Hot Wheels track is used and a friction device made of a 1x2 piece of wood and index cards. Textbook author John Mays shows how to set up and execute the experiment.
