How to Sear Steaks on the Grill Dome Kamado

submitted by Steve McElroy on 07/20/15 1

In this video I walk through my process of searing steaks on the Grill Dome ceramic kamado. I typically seared for 1 1/2 - 2 min per side at 650°-700° then pull the steaks off the kamado to rest while I dial the cooker back down to about 400° and then toss them back on to bring the internal temp up to my desired temp (usually med rare). If you're a kamado owner, let me know your thoughts and if you sear steaks a different way and what your results have been.
