Sarah's Rant :)

HEY GUYS, sooo couldn't hear anything I was saying? Well that sucks, but fortunately, I also wrote up a script, so you can either read along, or just read it. Hope it helps. :) Physics is ABSOLUTELY MIND BOGGLING. It's one of the amazing subjects that answers the 'whys of life'. Everything from why the planets spin to why atoms produce energy. Physics requires you to think OUTSIDE the box. It forces you to contemplate every aspect of every situation. But any fool can do physics. You take the numbers you put them in a formula, BING BANG BOOM you've calculated the attractive forces between you and another body in the room. But true innovative physics is not that simple. It requires constant questioning, and an extreme amount of creativity ...to the point of...well, almost insanity. Richard Feynman is one of the most well-known scientist s of our modern age...AND FOR GOOD REASON. He was one of those truly INNOVATIVE PEOPLE...always pondering the 'whys' and 'hows' of life. He worked on everything from particle physics all the way to quantum electrodynamics. Half of the theories and diagrams that he is noted for creating he came up with simply out of curiosity. He wanted to know WHY something did what it did. And his explanations are BRILLIANT. The Feynman lectures are his explanations of abstract topics such as particle physics on a simpleton's level. He begins by saying that all matter is made up of atoms which contain energy which makes them try and move around. The atoms are packed differently in solids vs. liquids vs. gases, however, and the reason that I can't put my hand through BAM...this wall...is because its jiggling atoms are being held together by forces way stronger than my hand could possibly break. How do you even begin to ponder a subject as intangible as that? Well...something not a lot of people know about Feynman, was that he had a condition called synesthesia. When his brain sent signals to read numbers and letters, the neuron didn't stop at the reading center of the brain...it passed into the area that allows you to see colours. So, Feynman saw words and numbers in various colours. BUT THAT'S A LITTLE MESSED UP. That's not to say Feynman wasn't brilliant, in fact his synesthesia may even be one of the hidden keys to his knowledge. Because really, to contemplate things as odd as quantum mechanics in your spare time there must be something going on in his brain that's DIFFERENT. Something that allows you to consider things in a way that's brilliant, it's just, well, not quite normal...BUT THEN AGAIN, are any of us really normal? FINNN Again, I hope you enjoyed it.
