The Siddis have adopted the Indian customs and language. When the idea to relocate to Africa was first mooted, the then Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi encouraged them to stay on referring to them as part of the Indian family. Could the presence of the Siddis be the beginning of a wonderful phase of history?
