Vang Vieng, Laos was my favorite town in Laos in terms of scenery. The river is crystal clear, and the mountains in the background make for the perfect setting. Vang Vieng does attract many backpackers that are very much into "chilling out" as almost every bar/restaurant has some sitcom running (Friends, Family Guy, Simpson, etc) Lounge around and watch sitcoms, thats pretty much what the attraction is in Vang Vieng even considering the beautiful river. This should definitely be on the list of destinations to visit while passing through Laos.
