MONKEY NUTRITION: bit.ly/monkeynutrition SUBSCRIBE: bit.ly/SubscribeToLondonReal Our episode with Tim Ferriss in January 2013 was a pivotal moment for London Real as he was at that time our most famous and popular guest (Bodybuilder Dorian Yates was soon to follow garnering over 1,000,000 views). But getting the author of The 4-Hour Workweek, The 4-Hour Body, and The 4-Hour Chef on London Real was anything but simple. Tim works with a variety of assistants and after getting pushed from one to the other the trail had gone cold and his visit to London was weeks away. I was panicking. If London Real couldn't secure Ferriss then how could I expect to lock in people like him in the future with big messages? As a last ditch effort I Tweeted to Tim the first name of his assistant -- information not widely known -- and how we just needed his approval to book him on the show (I think the Tweet was "Hey Tim, all set to host you on London Real just need you to give Nadia the thumbs up!"). Within 20 minutes his PA had emailed me back and we locked in a date. In retrospect the booking process of each guest has idiosyncrasies just like the guest itself. For Graham Hancock it took 9 months of persistence and 3 personal recommendations. For Dorian Yates is was a London Real intern that had a personal training session with him that gave us the introduction. For Joey Diaz I filmed an unlisted YouTube video personally pitching him the idea of the interview, knowing that he would be impressed by the hustle (for all of the beef between Joey and I, our interview is still one of the best pieces on him, wherever it is on YouTube). The Tim Ferriss interview is one of the most candid and personal pieces on him that I have ever seen. When I introduced him as "the greatest self-promoter of all time" I felt a chill in the room but he soon warmed up and got very personal. At the end he described his struggle NOT to "keep up with the Joneses" of his high-flying friends in Silicon Valley. I hope you enjoy our BLAST FROM THE PAST with Tim Ferriss.
