Traditional Shortbread Cookies 1/2 cup Corn starch 1/2 icing sugar 1 cup all purpose flour 3/4 cup butter softened Sift together dry ingredients. With wooden spoon and/or hands blend in butter until a soft smooth dough forms. Chill dough for 15-20 minutes. Roll out dough between sheets of waxed paper and cut out shapes and place on ungreased or parchment lined cookie sheet. Decorate with coloured sugar sprinkles if desired. Bake at 300 F for 6-10 minutes (depending on thickness) until the edges are a teeny tiny bit brown. Only makes about two dozen medium sized cookies, you may want to double the recipe.
