Apartment Balcony Gardening DIY: Growing Your Own Food

submitted by Renee on 11/30/13 1

This video is the original update of my balcony garden I started in the spring of 2012. This year I am concentrating more on cherry tomatoes because they produce more fruit than a larger tomato variety. I ended up watering and watering my large tomato plants only to get 1-3 fruits off of each plant in the end. With a cherry tomato, you will get continual stream of small tomatoes that are good for salads or just eating right off the vine. Also, they are easier to grow in less sunlight and you won't waste as much water. The zucchini that you see in the video failed, and I will not attempt them in a pot on a balcony ever again, they belong in the ground. I would, however, suggest growing lots and lots of basil, chili peppers, lettuce and cherry tomatoes. Thanks for watching, please leave comments and questions below!
