It’s a mocha, blending chocolate sauce, coffee, and chocolate chips with a whipped cream topping and an extra drizzle of chocolate sauce. I’m going to be making this from scratch with a special twist, and without any of those weird artificial flavors. Java Chip Frappuccino Recipe: KitchenAid Coffee Grinder: bit.ly/1Q0xP0e Vietnamese Coffee Filter: amzn.to/1BDGhXo Ingredients - (chocolate sauce) - 1 cup water - 3 ½ ounces Dark Chocolate - 3 ½ tbsp heavy whipping cream - 2 tbsp freshly ground coffee - 1 ½ cups ice - ½ cup whole milk - ¼ cup chocolate chips - 1 tsp unrefined cane sugar - Whipped Cream Preparation - I’ll start by making my chocolate sauce! I’m taking a saucepan, filling it with 1 cup of water, then turning the heat on high until it comes to a soft boil. In the meantime, i’ll chop up my chocolate bar that’s 3.5 ounces. I’m using this organic dark chocolate that’s 55% cacao and also has bits of caramel in it for extra flavor. This is where you can get really creative with your chocolate because there’s so many different varieties. There’s chili, raspberry, caramel, you can use anything you want. I’ll take my chopped up chocolate then place it in a heat safe bowl. Once the water starts to bubble, I’ll turn the heat to low then place my bowl of chocolate on top to create a double boiler. A double boiler creates soft heat to melt your chocolate without scorching it! Now i’ll add in 3 ½ tbsp of heavy whipping cream. For every ounce of chocolate I’ll add in 1 tbsp of heavy whipping cream. If you want your chocolate sauce a little thinner you can add in a little more whipping cream until it’s the perfect consistency. I’ll give it a stir until my chocolate sauce forms and then I’ll set it aside to cool. This sauce can be stored in the fridge in an airtight container for a few days. Now I’ll make my espresso shot using my Vietnamese coffee filter - I’ll add in 2 tbsp of freshly ground coffee and then I’ll tamp it down. I’ll fill the filter up with boiling hot water then I’ll let it do it’s thing. Finally, once my espresso shot is done, I’ll combine everything together. In my blender I’ll start by adding 1 ½ cups of ice, 1/2 cup of whole milk, my espresso shot, ¼ cup of chocolate chips, and then 2 tbsp of my chocolate sauce. And if you like it sweeter you can add a little bit of sugar. I’m adding 1 tsp of unrefined cane sugar to this. Now I’ll give it a whirl until it’s blended. I’ll drizzle a little bit of chocolate sauce onto the sides of my cup, just like they do at Starbucks, pour out my frap, and then top it with some whipped cream and a littttttle bit more chocolate sauce for good measure, and now it’s time to enjoy!! I hope you like this Mocha Java Chip Frappuccino recipe, make it for your friends! Thanks for watching and I’ll see you guys at the next coffee break!
