Hi everyone! When I learned about the health benefits and nutrition of Chia seeds, sprouts and leaves and I found some seeds at the grocery store, I thought it would be a good thing to grow Chia in my garden. It is an annual, that once established, will reseed itself. In this video I plant a few seeds and begin to grow them indoors. I show you how they grew (and how I think they taste:). There are few different varieties of Chia but they share their nutritional benefits and are in the salvia/mint family of plants. I am growing salvia hispanica. Below is a link to a site about growing Chia that I found helpful: www.herbsarespecial.com.au/isabells_blog/isabells-articles/chia-crop-potential-and-uses.html Here is the link to wikipedia info on salvia hispanica: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvia_hispanica Thank you for watching!
