Large Hadron Collider Detects Rare Particle Decay

www.undergroundworldnews.com Experiments carried out at the Large Hadron Collider at the European Organization for Nuclear Research [CERN] in Geneva, Switzerland observed a previously unseen subatomic process of particle decay, long predicted by the standard model of physics, but until now never recorded. The conclusions are the result of a joint analysis of two experiments carried out by the CMS [Compact Muon Solenoid] and LHCb [Large Hadron Collider beauty] collaborations, which examined data they collected from proton-proton collisions at CERN, in 2011 at a center-of-mass energy of seven teraelectronvolts [TeV] and in 2012 at eight TeV. The data from the experiment revealed a new and extremely rare decay of the Bs particle [a heavy composite particle consisting of a bottom antiquark and a strange quark] into two muons.
