In Automatic mode, the Trainer will respond to barks and immediately emit the ultrasonic sound to stop dog barking. The Trainer can recognize barking sounds from up to 25 feet away. This Trainer also includes a safety feature when in Automatic mode, whereby it will time-out for five minutes if it is triggered more than six times within one minute. In addition, the Trainer will go into sleep mode when your dog does not bark, in order to conserve Battery power. You will learn the basic functionality of the device and how to test the ultrasonic frequency to which your dog responds. The Trainer will default to the highest frequency, but it is recommended that you test your dog every few weeks to identify the most effective sound frequency to train and control your dog. Ultrasonic training devices are effective for about two-thirds of dogs, but some will not respond to the ultrasonic tone. If your dog is not distracted by the tone, you may need to try Dog Training Collars or alternate dog training systems.
