Many dogs lunge and bark at other dogs when on-leash, a behavior that dog trainers call "leash reactivity or leash agitation." There are a number of reasons why dogs develop this problem. Desensitization training is one method to extinguishing this behavior. Consult with a professional dog trainer before conducting these exercises on your own.
