Warmth comes from wood and rugs so stick with wooden flooring to create the right look. USE NATURAL LIGHT: There is no thing as too much light with this look so have your windows as large as possible and don't use any curtains or blinds. ALWAYS USE WHITE: Bright white is the colour of choice in Scandinavia so use white walls as your backdrop and then get playful with colourful rugs, art, furniture and flowers. OPT FOR A FIREPLACE: No Swedish home is complete without a fireplace or stove so make sure you include one in your own design. USE NATURAL WOOD: Natural wood is ever present in modern Scandinavian design so along with the white walls choose the occasional unfinished wood panelling wall as it's clean and unfussy but adds warmth and texture. MIX STYLES AND ERA: While Scandinavian design is known for clean, geometric lines, that doesn't mean there isn't room for an ornate chandelier or a flamboyant chair in the mix so be creative.
