Often in technique emulation training students are taught to use physical power or leverage to counteract attack energy flow that is not calling for the technique demonstrated. Since takemusu aiki is the aikido that comes out of the unification of energies rather than making an attacker conform to the specifics of a preconceived technique it never requires manipulation of the attacker.
