Aiki-Lab: Establishing a baseline expression of ki

submitted by Carl Desousa-Oldenburg on 05/25/15 1

It is helpful to establish a baseline of embodied feeling to discern intention. This is a natural state of being when one pays attention to another, but it can be difficult under the duress of attack. Forming a baseline of embodied intention to "listen" to a partner helps us to receive the partner's intention from a place other than one of defense (spear/shield/withdrawal) as well as training us to meet others in a fully present state.
