Part 1 Recap: Step 1: Know Your Child How does my child learn? Is he/she a visual, tactile, audio, or kinesthetic learner? What are his/her talents? What are his/her strengths and weaknesses? Step 2: Deprogramming Deprogram your child and yourself. You do not need to recreate the traditional schooling environment. Begin to think about what is best for you and your child. Remember: you have an Infinite Amount of Time to educate your child! Step 3: Discover Strengths Is your child a great reader not so good at math? Can your child calculate problems in his/her head? Is your child an artist? She was awarded a NROTC scholarship to Hampton University. Smith-Johnson graduated in 2002 with a B.S. in biology and M.S. in Medical Science in 2004. She began medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2004 a few days after giving birth to her second child but withdrew after many setbacks, sacrifices and challenges. Tanya decided to stay home with her children after her husband was deployed to Afghanistan. The Johnson's made the decision to homeschool their children from that point on and never looked back. They now have 4 children. Tanya Smith-Johnson is now training to become a midwife. Victoria received her Master's of Education in Policy, Organization & Leadership Studies as well as a Bachelor's of Arts in African & African American Study in 2011.
