She observed the struggles of group learning while also observing positive examples of homeschooling in other families. When it came time to educate their own children, Gwen and her husband knew homeschooling was the best choice. In the years since then, it has become a conviction. Just Relax! As a mom of eight, the key to Gwen's success as a homeschooling mom is to stay relaxed. - They have a relaxed school location, spreading out all over the house! - They enjoy a relaxed academic structure that includes both focused academics and reading times. - They maintain a relaxed schedule that allows for the natural interruptions that come when little ones are around. How to Juggle it All Gwen knows from experience that priorities dictate how people spend their time. "I strongly believe that you have time for whatever is important to you," she shares. One of Gwen's top priorities as a homeschooling mom is reading to her children and spending one-on-one time with them. Focusing on keeping her marriage strong is another priority. High School? Gwen's oldest is now in high school. Here is her encouragement for other homeschooling moms approaching the high school journey: - Remember what you knew in the beginning: No one knows and loves your child like you do! - God will continue to equip you through high school just as He did in earlier years. - Resources abound! Get help if you need it! - Anyone can do it. Relax and enjoy the journey!
