First of all it's Alfred Drevis, not Alfred Dravis. I swear these video typos will be the death of me. MASS spoilers* So after getting a ton of people requesting Mad Father tributes, I've finally come out with the first track. I've played the game myself and have to say that it's quite nice. I'm not sure about others, but I never really found Alfred to be that insane until the end of the game. He seemed like a pretty stable guy to me, just with really sick twisted interests and morals haha. Clearly he sees himself as an artist of some sort, and I admit that he does a good job with 'making' dolls so I guess I'm making myself look bad by saying I'm kind of a fan of his. I still can't forgive him for trying to turn Aya into a doll though, or killing his wife, or treating Maria like crap at the end of the game. Even obsession like his need to be controlled to a degree... Anyway! Clearly this piece is focused on Alfred. I'll be making pieces for the rest of the characters as well. This track was also intended to have vocals, but not this arrangement in particular. You'll notice that the early guitar solo prevents any real vocal cover from sounding that great if it's done, as well the drawn-out outro. I'll be uploading the vocal track and off-vocal version soon. Now for my comparison with The Witch's House! I'll be killed for this. I still love Majo no Ie. I love it more than Mad Father. I like Majo no Ie's story MORE than Mad Father's, and that's what people will go 'DUDE WTF!?' at. The story in Mad Father was incredibly predictable to me, and yes I mean right from the start. I played The Witch's House first, so naturally I'd made a guess that Aya is mentally unstable like her father, since in The Witch's House 'Viola' was actually someone else. I now list 'evil protagonist' as a possibility on nearly everything. I expected Aya to turn out like her father, and well... Look at what happened haha. The mother seeming to be insane and yandere for Alfred seemed a bit much, so I suspected that there was more to it than just her love for him. As expected, the truth revealed that she'd wanted to get Alfred away from Aya and save her. Maria's story wasn't so predictable, I'll admit that I my assumptions about her were way off so that pleased me haha. All in all it was a great game with a good story, but the depth isn't any more impressive than the story in Majo no Ie! It's just told differently! You have to go through a heap of replays in Majo no Ie to discover more of the story, and even have to attempt a no save run to get everything. The library is also something one should backtrack to, as new books and information are added. The betrayal and truth revealed in the True End is still only half of the plot! Now I'm not saying that either game is better than the other. I'm saying that Mad Father's praise for a 'more in-depth story' is a little overboard and makes it overrated in comparison to The Witch's House. Mad Father does have more soundtrack content however, and features a neat little gallery. Both games are still underrated in the long run though. I guess when it comes down to it, I just prefer The Witch's House haha. xD I still love Mad Father dearly though. Just remember everyone: Give Majo no Ie a little more credit. It's a lovely work of art. ^_^ Actually... I swear that Mad Father had a Majo no Ie reference with a character that looked almost exactly like Viola, and she was even missing her eyes. Even if it's just me being a Majo no Ie fanboy, I like to believe that it was a reference haha. Mixed and mastered in FL Studio and played on a really old Yamaha keyboard, my Schecter 7-String Jeff Loomis Signature Electric Guitar, and Violin 'Beatles' Bass. ALSO! You are free to cover this song with vocals if you wish. Just credit me for the performance itself and provide a link to either this video or my channel. Make sure the link is visible in your video as well, please. :DD DISCLAIMER: I do not own the picture used in this video.
