"Jump" from the Sadigursky Etudes: So you want to be a Bass Clarinet player

submitted by earspasm on 11/23/13 1

This is another of my favorite etudes from Sam's second book -- a sort of Country-style-Hoe-down-feel-the-chicken-grease little piece. Here I talk about how to most efficiently use your Left-hand index finger to play F#, G# and A without driving yourself nuts. It's not that hard actually. I also talk about how to approach this piece musically, emphasizing pitch centers, and bringing that out for the listeners.
