Musical Medium Jenifer Whisper is interviewed about her new show “Hollywood Heaven” she performed in San Diego, CA. All the songs-- lyrics and melody --she received for the show are from Johnny Mercer, one of her many wonderful 'Stars Above' she receives songs from as 'the Song Whisperer'. Correspondent Vance Degeneres does a great job of asking insightful questions leading to a humorous treatment of an other-wise mystical subject For more details about Jenifer's shows and new musical “My Stars Above”, check her website at www.mystarsabove.com Some people make fun of people who Channel! Maybe Channeling is Real. What do you think ? Transcript of this piece entitled "The Theater is Dead" originally appeared on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" November 18, 1999. Stewart: On a related note, what will happen to Cher when she finally uses her share in French real estate. Will that be the end of the most exciting performer of our time? Or is there a way after death she will perform again. ghost sound effects DeGeneres: It's an age old question: Where do we go when we die? Does our spirit live on? Do our abilities, our talents... This has been a mystery until now. The answers may lie with Jenifer Whisper, a San Diego Psychic who has been making some impressive contacts on the other side. Whisper: Well, I heard a voice in my mind he said 'Jenny,There's a whole bunch of us on the other side who want to give you music.' I openned my eyes and looked around to see who said that. And he said 'George Gershwin.' Gershwin music playing DeGeneres: That's right, George Gershwin and a whole bunch of dead songwriters are still composing and have chosen to write their songs through Jeni. DeGeneres: With so much talent on the other side are there after-life jam sessions? errie sound effects Whisper: "Hi Johny," Johny Mercer came in and said 'You bet your life, we do!' DeGeneres: Johny Mercer, wow. DeGeneres: Jeni has channeled dozens of songs from beyond. And yet she never knows when psychic vibrations might strike. Gershwin music continues to play Whisper: You know they are kind of hovering all around us...all the ones I've mentioned. Very happy to be getting this information out. Is what I'm hearing, said Whisper. Narrator: This little one has been penned in the after life by non other than John Wayne. music playing of "Cowboys and Indians" by John Wayne through Jenifer Whisper Whisper: From Nebraska to Alaska to California yea, why yo, wo, yo, yo. Cowboys and Indians was my game. DeGeneres: Jenifer Whisper doesn't work alone. Her songs from 'the other side' have inspired many others as well. Here, see for yourselves. music playing of "The Broadway Express" by George Gershwin through Jenifer Whisper Cast: All aboard The Broadway Express, hop aboard The Broadway Express. Narrator: These seasoned, semi professionals are busy breathing life into Jeni's musical revue of songs from 'beyond the grave.' From masterworks like the bouncy ''Broadway Express' Cast: The Broadway Express...yes yes...yes yes. Narrator: to the haunting lyrical 'Cosmic Honey.' music playing of "Cosmic Honey" by George Gershwin through Jenifer Whisper Rose Marie Ballard Cosmic honey is Cosmic power Cosmic honey just let it shower. Cosmic honey don't deny it. Cosmic honey don't nullify it. Whisper: I see it done as a Broadway Show. Cast: We like to line dance, we like to romance. We like to have a lot of fun. Whisper: Done with very professional people Liza Minnelli playing me. Cast: Vim, Vim, Voodoo, Vim, Vim, Voodoo Stewart: Who ever said "you can't take it with you." wasn't talking about talent. DeGeneres: John, this could open up a whole new kettle of worms here. What if the life challenged songwriters here want to be paid their song writing royalties. Stewart : That's an interesting point but how can deceased songwriters collect royalties from songs written while dead? DeGeneres: That's an excellent question John. BMI and ASCAP, the companies that collect royalties, are just going to have to open up a post-life branch. I think it's like the ghost of Jimi Hendrix that once said: "You may be dead, but you still want your bread."
