DeGeneres: Johny Mercer, wow. DeGeneres: Jeni has channeled dozens of songs from beyond. And yet she never knows when psychic vibrations might strike. Stewart : That's an interesting point but how can deceased songwriters collect royalties from songs written while dead? DeGeneres: That's an excellent question John. BMI and ASCAP, the companies that collect royalties, are just going to have to open up a post-life branch. I think it's like the ghost of Jimi Hendrix that once said: "You may be dead, but you still want your bread."
