FROM THE HELEN G. NASSIF COMMUNITY CANCER CENTER, THIS IS CANCER CONNECTIONS. DURING OR AFTER CANCER TREATMENT IT'S COMMON FOR DOCTORS TO RECOMMEND HEALTH AND WELLNESS PROGRAMS TO THEIR PATIENTS OFFERED BY THE COMMUNITY CANCER CENTER. "CLEARLY THERE ARE STUDY AFTER STUDY NOW SHOWING THE BENEFITS OF WELLNESS, OF EXERCISE AND MENTAL WELL BEING IN THE TREATMENT OF CANCER AS WELL AS THE SURGICAL COMPONENT OF IT." SUE KELLY IS A TWO-TIME BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR AND HAS WORKED OUT WITH TRAINER MATT SCHMITZ FOR NEARLY A YEAR. I COME EVERY TWO WEEKS TO VISIT WITH MATT AND WE WORK OUT FOR AN HOUR EACH TIME. HE'S ALSO CREATED AN EXERCISE PROGRAM FOR ME THAT I CAN DO AT HOME AS WELL." GETTING TO THE GYM IS A TREMENDOUS STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION FOR MANY CANCER SURVIVORS. "THIS IS THE FIRST THING THEY CAN REALLY DO FOR THEMSELVES TO MAKE THEMSELVES FEEL BETTER. IT REALLY EMPOWERS THE PATIENT." TO SPEAK WITH A LOCAL CANCER EXPERT, CALL THE HELEN G NASSIF COMMUNITY CANCER CENTER FOR A SAME-DAY CONSULTATION.
