The San Diego police union's contract wasn't set to expire until 2018, but after months of officers' complaints about low pay, San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer met them at the negotiating table. Now, the talks are lasting longer than expected. This video was shot by KPBS videographers Katie Schoolov and Nic McVicker, although I filmed the interview with Arrollado. I also wrote, voiced and edited this piece.
