Cece Bell, author and illustrator of "El Deafo," was named an honoree for the 2015 John Newbery Medal. This award was announced on Feb. 2, by the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), during the ALA Midwinter Meeting held Jan. 30-Feb. 3, 2015, in Chicago.
