Isaiah 61 helps the homeless of Harrisburg

Reported by: Bryant Maddrick It's getting cold throughout the mid-state. Homeless in our area depend on nonprofits and charities for help. Christian outreach group Isaiah 61 hands out food, blankets and other supplies to area homeless, "even just giving the basic needs, we really try to build relationships with people," explains Isaiah 61 co-founder, April Acostio. Brian Boas has depended on Isaiah 61 to provide basics so he could survive the cold, "when it's cold outside they give them blankets, food, and they do their best. And I'd like to see them come out more often." The Christian outreach group delivers food and supplies every Tuesday and Wednesday night. As the mercury drops, their mission to help the people on Harrisburg's streets becomes even more crucial. The nonprofit depends totally on donations, and organizers say they need help now, "right now, we do have some blankets and some socks. Don't have any candles, tarps, tents, anything like that. But, I'll say it'll last us probably the next month. But then we'll be down to nothing if people don't donate," says Acostio. If you want help this organization.
