A quick look at my family's most recent diversion--searching through US Penny rolls! As I searched for Wheat Pennies with my boys, I decided to also separate the non-wheat copper pennies (1959-1982) from the Zinc Pennies. Will this ever pay off? I'm not really sure - I suppose it depends if the US Gov. lifts the regulations on melting copper pennies. While it is definitely not a 'get rich quick' sort of activity, it has proven to be mildly entertaining and strangely addictive.
