geode is a 16mm experimental film that’s technique, form, and content symbiotically studies the act of destruction as a form of release and subsequent healing. The film becomes ritual, utilizing external action to create an internal transformation. The images themselves reveal destruction and letting go as the techniques of bleaching, scratching, and destroying the film’s emulsion reveal this process through the experimentation in form. geode’s intent is to invoke the emotions of trauma that lead to destruction and transmute them into an experience of hope and healing.
