FRIDAY FOOTBALL SHOWDOWN 2014 Presented by the Golden Nugget sports book and Las Vegas Review-Journal Hosted by The Las Vegas Sportsline, airing on ESPN Radio (1100 AM) Each Friday throughout the football season, two handicappers go head to head in a bracket contest. The weekly radio broadcast is 2 to 3 p.m., either from the Golden Nugget sports book or ESPN Radio studio. A video version of the contest semifinals and finals may be taped for ReviewJournal.com. (Entry fee, bracket draw and play selection rules) Sixteen contestants are invited to enter for $3,000 each. The Golden Nugget is adding $2,000 to the prize pool for a total of $50,000. A blind draw, held live on radio Tuesday, Aug. 26 or Wednesday, Aug. 27, will determine the eight first-round matchups in the bracket. Each handicapper makes seven selections against the spread, from all college and NFL sides and totals (excluding first-half lines) posted on the Golden Nugget board at noon Friday.
