Donna Windsor, Michele Brown, Kristen Doakes, Darlene Clancy - Former Jacksonville Jaguars cheerleaders and active members of the The Professional Cheerleaders Alumni Foundation. Their Personal Story: Becoming an NFL Cheerleader is no overnight accomplishment. It takes hard work, dedication, sometimes rejection, and determination. No one ever woke up and decided to be a dancer and make and NFL team in a day or a week with no training or strong desire. Why the desire to become an NFL Cheerleader? The performance, the life experience, the sportsmanship, the next level of training, the opportunities, to name a few. NFL Cheerleaders are leaders and professional women with responsibilities outside of the role of cheerleader. We don’t cheer for the money, we dance for an NFL team for the Love (Go Jaguars!). Once our time as an NFL Cheerleader is over, that love doesn’t go away, nor does the leadership and the opportunity to be a role model. Their Professional Story: We are former NFL Cheerleaders who include professionals, mothers, students, role models, leaders and ambassadors in the community. Our programs present a unique perspective by our alumni to offer insight of how we translate our dance, cheerleading and professional skills into goal-setting behavior that may have a positive impact on each young lady and the community as a whole. We incorporate strong mentoring qualities of self-confidence, responsibility, health, leadership, positive behavior and integrity, with elements of dance and cheerleading that brought us here. Our goal is mentor young ladies and women to become leaders and make a difference in our community in the future. Their Charity: We are a non-profit 501 (c)3 organization that provides dance, cheer, and mentoring clinics to underprivileged youth at area community centers through our Charity Clinics. We also raise money to provide scholarships for children to dance year round. Alumni members volunteer many hours facilitating these community programs. Charity Dance & Cheer Clinics Each time we hold a Dance & Cheer Clinic, funds raised will be used toward a charity clinic at an area non-profit community center serving underprivileged youth. We cover expenses to facilitate a clinic and offer the same instruction, mentoring, and value for every child. It’s our way of giving girls a Chance through Dance. Latricia Ledet Scholarship Latricia Ledet was a founding member of Professional Cheerleaders Alumni who believed strongly in mentoring as many children and teenagers in the community as possible, even when financial circumstances did not afford such opportunities. Latricia lost her battle with cancer in 2011 and we have set up this scholarship in her name to continue her mission. Scholarship donations fund the Latricia Ledet Scholarship that pays a student’s tuition at a participating dance studio. Visit their website at www.procheerleadersalumni.com
