Jean-Michel Basquiat was a graffiti artist. He was great friends with Andy Warhol and lead an amazing life. Unfortunately he died of a heroine overdose in 1988. I am completely baffled as to how many views this has gotten! I did have the right date in the actual video but corrected it here (sorry). Also, I had watched the movie about him and was completely inspired which is why I made this video. I made this video for my art teacher since we had just watched the video in class. I made it completely for fun and entertainment for my class. I never thought it would be seen by thousands :) For the people who enjoyed it, thank you so much for your wonderful comments :) They really brightened my day. For the people who didn't, thats ok! This was purely made for my own enjoyment and for my classmates as well. Also, I chose the song Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi because in that song he mentions that he doesn't care about the opinions of others, he may do drugs, but he is living life to enjoy it not for others satisfaction. Kid Cudi mentions most that he is just all about living life to the fullest and not caring about what others think. This is how Jean-Michel Basquiat lived. Basquiat did not care how others perceived him. All he wanted was to be a great painter. That is all. He did not want to be referred to as a "Black painter" and he didn't care if he did drugs while painting. Painting was meaning of life. All he wanted to do was create art. I thought this song went well since the stories overlapped.
