Elizabeth Lindsey at TEDxWomen 2012

submitted by Wise Women Will Save the World on 10/22/14 1

Elizabeth Lindsey talks about the tradition among native cultures of "wayfinding", and how people in modern cultures can be guided by both the mind and the heart: "We live in a world loaded with information but starved for wisdom, trying to find our way." Dr. Elizabeth Kapu'uwailani Lindsey is the first Polynesian explorer and female fellow in the history of the National Geographic Society. TEDxWomen was curated and produced by The Paley Center for Media. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
