Tuvalu is in danger of disappearing beneath the rising sea due to the damaging effects of climate changes. This story aims to raise awareness about this important issue and features Tuvaluan singer/songwriter Lia Avene's powerful and heartfelt response. This situation ultimately affects everybody on the planet. The VCA has initiated the "Pacific Project" which aims to work with the Tuvaluan communities to raise awareness of Tuvalu's plight. This digital story was inspired by the question raised by the project: "What part of this story is yours to tell?" The Centre for Cultural Partnerships offers a professional development course 'Community Filmmaking in a Digital Age' with an emphasis on personal or community 'voice'. By employing new technologies (computer-based and online tools including digital graphics, audio narration, video clips, animation, photographs and web publishing) with knowledge of script writing and story boarding, people can be connected in unique and valuable ways. Digital stories can have a powerful narrative with intent and artistry that can inspire viewers and leave them with a memorable experience and message.
