How To Start Working Out (Calisthenics, Barstarzz Training)

This is a very popular question where people ask us how can they start. First before anything you need to consult your doctor or whichever medical professional you may use. You want to go one that you have gone to prior and has some of your history available to him or her. This is most true if you are already suffering from a condition but still a good rule of thumb for everyone to get your general check up and get the official ok to start a workout program. This is with every workout program. Once you get cleared to workout you need to determine your fitness level and understand everyone comes from a different background based on wether they worked out before, played sports, or just lived a very sedentary lifestyle. You can do this by just trying to do some basic workouts and see where you fit in. Now we have a playlist with all our workout routines and more coming in the future. Just click on the link and let it keep playing. www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2EAA9EF3B32F50EF We also did a playlist with break downs of individual exercises. Check out the playlist www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9CA9970709BA75F7 If you want us to do a video on a subject and add it into those playlists leave a comment below on what that should be. Now we have an instructional dvd for sale on our website. www.barstarzz.com/portfolio/barstarzz-instructional/ This dvd breaks down how to do basic exercises like push ups, pull ups, dips and gives you progressions all the way to muscle ups, pistol jumps, and more. We also touch on the best way to lose fat, what to eat to gain muscle, how to prevent tendonitis, and much more information. Here are some general tips when starting to workout. 1) Set realistic goals / start slowly Set realistic goals so you are not aiming to high and getting discourage when you don't get there. Learn to master your pull up before running to learn the muscle up. Small steps will lead to a long path. Set small monthly or biweekly goals and check back to make sure you got them. These advanced moves will come but you rushing to try and get them can lead you to getting hurt and hindering your progress altogether. Remember everyone is different so worry about your progress, and your progress only. 2) Use perfect form Before progressing make sure you are using perfect form on your basics. Doing a lot of basics is one thing, but doing a lot of basics the right way is another. You want to use full range of motion without slamming your body around recklessly destroying your joints and tendons. You want to make sure you are getting the strength you need to move on properly. Of course this rule is for when training, when performing your freestyle you are allowed 100% freedom. 4) Use reminders to workout / inspiration You want to use reminders. This can be little notes, your wall paper on your computer screen, something that you can see daily to inspire and motivate you to keep on working out. We have barstarzz wall papers available on our website that have inspirational sayings along with them. www.barstarzz.com/wallpapers/ Also check out our Facebook page where we post up daily motivational quotes, pictures, videos, tips, and other free information to get you inspired. www.facebook.com/Barstarzz 5) Find a buddy, class, group of friends Find a friend, a class or a group of friends that you can workout with.
