Jaden was born with Optic Nerve Hypoplasia, a developmental disorder affecting vision and hormone levels. In 2010 Jaden's parents took him to China to receive injections of non-embryonic adult stem cells from donated umbilical cord blood.
The treatment is not available in the West yet over the past five years thousands of families have come to China to live in a hospital for a month as their loved ones receive transplants of adult stem cells.
In this video Jaden's family discuss their decision to come to China, living day-to-day in a hospital and the improvements they saw in his condition during that time.
