Matt Sims - SOD Stem Cell Patient

submitted by Brice on 11/01/13 1

Matt and his family traveled from the United States to China for Matt to receive several transplants of umbilical cord blood stem cells over the course of a 40 day cycle including physical therapy, acupuncture and electro-wave therapy.

Matt has a disease called Septo Optic Dysplasia. He has limited vision and some learning disabilities. But he lives independently holds a regular job and just wants a bit more independence.

Matt wants to drive.

Matt knows that adult stem cell therapy, as delivered in China today, is not a cure for SOD but it could help improve his vision and his quality of life.
