We spent 4 nights on Treasure Island in the St Petersburg/Clearwater area of Florida. This was our first trip to a Florida Beach in over a year, and we definitely made it count. Thanks to Clearwater Tourism for helping us navigating the Clearwater Offshore Power Boat Races, Clearwater Sailing Center and many other activities we were able to enjoy during our trip. We had VIP passes to the Clearwater Power Boat Races which comes to Clearwater, FL, once a year. If you have never been to this event, purchasing the VIP pass is definitely worth it! We were able to attend a VIP party on the 8th floor of the Hyatt Clearwater to watch the Power Boat races from a birds eye view. Oh, and the food was pretty darn good too! With the pass, we also got access to the Clearwater Sailing center to try out Stand Up Paddle Boarding or Sailing. Because it happened to be a windy day, we chose to take a short sailing trip in a Hobie Cat. This was our first experience with sailing and it was amazing. The Clearwater Sailing Center is an excellent place to learn how to sail and you can join the CWSC for a small fee per year which gives you access to all their paddle boards, sail boats, and many other water related actives. AND free lessons, which we could definitely use.
