In cricket, a runner was a substitute who runs on behalf of an injured batsman. No longer allowed in international matches...The Aussie players thought they were gifted a run-out, but did not account for the extra English runner on the field. Took pup a while to realise... Only people familiar with cricket will appreciate the humour in this one... [AUS v ENG ODI - 30/01]
