(Depending on how many sticks you use) I did not use glow paint. Glow paint does not glow as bright as the sticks do. Glow paint makes a very dull glow. I did not use highlighter either ( highlighters do not glow in the dark only under black lights) No matter what you do the glow will always fade from these jars. (just like a glow stick does not last forever) BUT it is really awesome & neat for a while. Glow sticks are non toxic, The reason they dont want you to crack them open is because the capsule holding the chemicals that you break in order to activate the stick, are made out of glass, and you could cut your hands, mouth, eyes, etc, The chemicals are NON TOXIC. www.bunnieclaire.blogspot.com www.etsy.com/shop/shesclaiire
