The mysterious Potamskiy Crater. lt was discovered in 1949 by geologist Vladim Kolpakov when locals in the area told him of an ‘evil’ place, hidden in the woods. Another early explanation was that the crater had volcanic origin. The shape superficially suggested this. Amateurs looking at it might see this as a probable theory.
