Police arrest striking fast food workers across the US

submitted by v995shotcaller.COM on 09/05/14 1

Police handcuffed dozens of protesters across the country on Thursday, as fast food workers went on strike to demand better pay and the right to unionize. Demanding a minimum wage increase to $15 an hour, the living wage for much of the nation, the workers sought to highlight the plight of the working poor in America. RT’s Marina Portnaya takes a look at what the strikers want, and also profiles Maria Fernandez, a 32-year-old woman who died as a result of working three minimum wage jobs.
