The commercial for Sony Playstation finds four people sitting around a table talking in a different Playstation game sound effect such as machine gun fire and a racing car engine. As each person tries to outdo the other in their recognisable games, the camera tracks into the mouth of each person to reveal that their epiglottis are the iconic logo shapes of a circle, square, triangle and cross. Graham Fink, Director at Paul Weiland Film Company, worked closely with Red Post Production to create the special effects. Red's Dan Williams used inferno to stabilise the tracking shots into the mouth, get rid of excessive highlights and create sufficient space in the mouth to make the epiglottis visible without looking abnormal. The latex models were tracked and composited into the mouths and Williams then had the task of matching skin textures and tones to make the unusual appear usual. Additional flame work to integrate the skin textures was carried out by Paul Dixon and the commercial was graded and transferred by Simone Grattarola using Spirit. Paul Weiland Film Company produced the 30-second advert for TBWA London. The commercial was aired across Europe in November 2000.
