The University's Global Health Academy has hosted an expert discussion on some of the world's biggest health challenges. Entitled 'Global Health Interventions: Do we really have the evidence?' the day-long conference brought together academics and medical practitioners from the UK and abroad. Professor Sir Ian Wilmut is Chairman of the Scottish Centre for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Edinburgh and is renowned for his work in genetics. His talk concerned whether often expensive gene therapy and regenerative medicine is suitable for wide-scale use.
