La Révolution française was filmed in 1989 for the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution, charting events from the calling of the Estates-General to the death of Robespierre. Co-produced by France, Germany, Italy, Britain and Canada, it was filmed in English and French. Only the French version is available on DVD - and only now with English subtitles.
