Seventeen days on, and Israel is still pressing ahead with its deadly aerial and ground offensives in the Gaza Strip. At least 16 Palestinians were killed, among them seven children in the Israeli shelling of an UNRWA school in Beit Hanoun, where many Palestinians were taking refuge. Hundreds were also injured in the attack. The Palestinian death toll from Israeli attacks on Gaza since July the 8th has now hit 784. Hamas's spokesman has condemned the Israeli attack, saying this amounts to war crimes.
