They also call for an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands. The Quds Day has become a symbol of the global condemnation of Israeli crimes against the Palestinian nation. The annual event is held on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan. This year, the rallies have coincided with Israel's brutal attacks on the Gaza Strip. In many places, there have already been huge protest rallies against the airstrikes and ground invasion of Gaza that have claimed hundreds of lives.
