The Israeli army has confirmed the deaths of two of its soldiers engaged in the offensive against the Gaza Strip. The latest fatalities bring to 37 the number of Israeli troops killed since Tel Aviv began its ground assault. But Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, puts the figure at about 90. Hamas says ten of them were killed in clashes with resistance fighters on Friday alone. Israeli military casualties began to rise rapidly since Tel Aviv significantly broadened its ground operations in Gaza. Meanwhile, Israeli towns and cities have been the target of more Palestinian rockets in retaliation for Tel Aviv’s deadly onslaught on the impoverished region.
