According to the Israeli military, the latest fatalities bring to 37 the number of Israeli troops killed since it began its ground assault. Meanwhile, some Israeli media put the figure at 38. But Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, says at least 90 Israeli troops have been shot dead in clashes with resistance fighters so far. Medics say as many as122 Israeli soldiers are now in hospitals, with at least five of them in critical condition. Israeli military casualties began to rise rapidly since Tel Aviv expanded its ground operations in Gaza nearly one week ago.
