As Airbnb continues to grow, it's become the target of criticism over both its legality and its safety. A recent report stated that over half of the company's NYC listings are illegal. But Chesky insists that the point of Airbnb is to help people, and government intervention to protect its users (or its neighbors' users) should only be used as a "last recourse."
